A Busy Christmas at CBC University of Life

The staff and children of CBC University of Life are planning to celebrate this coming special time of year with a programme of events that are sure to make this Christmas at CBC one to remember.

  • Academic Awards - Each class offers awards in categories including attendance, effort and behaviour, progress in portugese and progress in maths.
  • Christmas Lunch - In mid December we will be serving a delicious lunch to all students along with a special music and theatre program for the children.
  • Children's Christmas Spectacular - Their most exciting event this Christmas is the students nativity play which will be held for the first time in the gymnasium. This event includes the childrens choir and will be open to the public. This is a great oppurtunity for them to share the work of CBC with over 800 people in the local community.
  • High School Recital - This is another celebration with the parents of the high school students who will have their own recital performance. This is their oppurtunity to share with great pride their achievements in dance and music.

However, not every child is as fortunate at Christmas as those who attend CBC as Marcondes Marques, founder of the University of Life, says 'This season brings with it mixed emotions. Joy and pride for the children and parents at CBC as they gather together to celebrate the birth of Christ. However I'm also overcome with sadness as there are still hundreds of children living on the streets with no food or family, spending christmas alone.'
